Gear Oil Leak?! 1987 Mercury 115hp ELPTO

Hey guys, I replaced my water pump and during that I replaced the speedometer connector assembly. Now the lower unit is back on and I changed the gear oil. However when the motor is trimmed up or on the motor support bracket for trailering, it leaks gear oil out of a hole on the top starboard side of the lower unit. I believe this hole is where the water is picked up for the speedometer. My question is, is this normal for gear oil to come out of there? Did I maybe fill it up to much? Or should gear oil never come out of there. Help would be appreciated, thank you!

Gear box can not be overfilled.--------Gear oil should not leak out anywhere.----------A shop can pressure test the gearbox if you are concerned.
