no fire

I have a 1972 80 hp merc,fire to distributor but none out.I took it to shop guy says never saw dist with that setup inside it and can't find anything about it.I replaced wiring harness everything good to dist.Only 4 wires on switchbox and colors from dist don't match he said trigger was not in any info he had on ignitions.

Anyone know if i could change distributor to get this thing running.It was running replaced lower unit,moved motor to diff boat hasn't started since.

Any inline 4/6 cylinder trigger from 72 and up to 76 will fit ,just make sure it has correct timing wheel. Post a pic of your as it maybe the old horseshoe trigger.

The guy said he never saw 1 like it i'll see bout pic be monday before can get it tho,he did say didn't look like type 2,3 or 4 tho thanks Fazt. It's on a 1964 starcraft jupiter btw
