95 mercury 115 2+2

Just purchased this motor. This is the one that runs on 2 cylinders under 2000 rpm.
It kicks into 4 cylinder mode going onto plane very nicely and purrs along great.
But when I come of plane and drop below the 2000 rpm it can run very poorly for 30 seconds or so. Sometimes it runs smoother than others at this point. Almost like its still trying to fire the two cylinders that are shut off.
Is this normal. I have read they idle terrible.

No not at all in fact being I have the same motor I read all the post that relate to it, you will get more response on this forum then any other! There are a lot of guys that are really good and know what they are talking about!
