Hi everyone

I have a 4hp 4-stroke. The oil lamp only blinks one time when i pull and there is no spark.

CDI is new, Coil is new, Spark is new.
Killswitch is removed.

Can it be the oil sensor thats cause the defect?

Thanks !

Ok,
First I am no expert, but I thought the same thing with my 6hp 4 stroke 2003 merc / tohatsu motor and I even tried a spark tester. What I discovered is that there is spark for sure, but it is so weak the spark tester ihad didn't pick it up, and it can't be seen during the day but I could feel it, like tiny pin pricks. I tried again at night and sure enough it sparks little blue/orange sparks.
So in the end, how do you know it doesn't fire and how did you decide to replace the coil?
I am having issues with my outboatd too, so i tested the coil. Per the manual, it should be at most 4400 ohms, but mine tests 5200 and a friend's tests 5400, so i am thinking either they are both bad or there is something else bad and the spec on the coil isn't totally relevant.

Thoughts?
