So i have been troubleshooting my motor for a while now (on and off) - still running bad.. and in the process i think i destroyed a good stator!
So she starts / idles very easily.. ive set the tiuming and have spark on all 3 (each time i pull a plug wire the motor runs worse) on each of them).
Top plug burns a tan brown, middle one slightly wet and bottom one is the worst, wet fuel. I also noticed alot of black sooty/oily stuff spurting out from the worn mounts near the transom, it actually makes a little bit of a mess on the fishing rods etc.
and the motor runs badly.. about half power - no get up and go.. not really any signs of blow back thru carbs (reeds) and they are clean clean clean.. new fuel lines, filters, etc..
is this all pointing to the crank seal?
