1985 Mercury 75 hp running problem

I have a 1985 Mercury 75hp, 4 cycle that will not stay running when put into gear. It also revs up and down when in idol. I just replace a lot of the wiring, cleaned the carburetors and put seafoam in the gas to help clean things out. I am at a loss of what is causing this? Any suggestions?

4 cylinder or 4 cycle.----Hopefully you are mixing gas and oil at 50:1 on it.

Most common reasons for stalling went put in gear are. Idle speed set to low, carbs out of adjustment, one or more cylinders not firing, one or more cylinders with low compression.
