On a project boat I bought I have the control box and trim/tilt pump shown in the attached photos. The UP trim button on the handle doesn't work due to the wires from the trim tilt switch being non existent as can be seen in the photos. There were no wires from the switch attached to the pump so I would like to somehow create a bypass so the trim up switch will work. Is it as simple as running a jumper lead between the Blue and Purple wires?
Thanks

Look for the wires coming from th trim limit switch, on the starboard PTT bracket. Those wires need to be jumpered together to permit the motor ti trim. I think they were light blue and purple, but am not sure. Anyway, they had bullet connectors on their ends.

Does the red plug on the PTT unit have three wires? It looks like only 2 wires, which means you will need a heavy power wire to go to the control to feed back power to the blue or green wires.

No Title

Chris1956, thanks for the reply. As can be seen in the first photo, the wires to the switch are useless and the switch had been removed anyway. At the pump end there are no wires at all from the switch. I bypassed the red plug because as can be seen in the second photo, the terminals were burnt out/corroded. From memory though it only had 2 wires going in even though there were 3 wires coming out. I have run the wires from the control box directly to the solenoids and everything works except the Trim Up button on the throttle. If I were to put both the Purple and Blue wires on the UP solenoid would this then make the button on the throttle work?

Gee, I would make it simple. Put the trailer up wire on the trim up button. So the trim up button would have the blue wire and the trim down button would have green. The trailer button is redundant,

I re-read my own post and decided I had answered my own question. I put the Purple wire and the Blue wire on the same connection on the Up solenoid and now everything works as it should albeit with no limit switch.
