ok guys,i blew my merc 150 v1500 up,so i went out and found a good deal on a 1982 115 tower of power.it did not come with any wiring,or power trim componets.i then found another merc 115(1979) that had everything i needed(short shaft,trim componets,wiring and cables).the 79 motor was froze up from sitting,but for $150 was well worth it for the parts i needed.
Now comes the fun part,will the wiring from the 79 fit the 82???everything else worked,but the 82 has coil packs and the 79 has a dist..i didnt know until i got the motor home. does someone have a wiring harness for a 82 they would like to sell,or trade for parts??or can i use the 79 harness?i pulled the plugs and put oil in the cylinders on the 79,2 days later she spins freely,did a compression test and fires at 125 on all 6 cylinders,so if anyone needs a 79 powerhead,let me know
