1997 mercury 115 hp 2+2

I just purchased this engine and boat this year, The motor has oil injection on it I used the boat last week but used premix in tank. The oil tank does have marks on it so it does seem to be dropping, Is it safe to run straight gas on it now ? I am just nervous with the oil injection, if it works its great. any suggestions? Thank you PS: my first Mercury outboard ever aiways an OMC guy!

If the oil in the tank is lower, then it's working. They are reliable units.

There is a test that can be done to checck oil pump output.

Ran 3 gallons of straight fuel with startron additive , engine ran very nice ! So the oil pump is in fact working or this motor would be fried by now, motor idles nice has that "bump" when going from low speed to high but I am told this is the norm for this engine !
