i have a mid 50's merc mark 5 and a mid 50's merc super 5, wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a place to find coils and possibly other parts for them, thanks in advance
Make sure you know what coils you need. Mercury used two different suppliers for ignition components on their 2-cylinder models in that era. Bendix-Scintilla and Phelon magnetos went out the door with plusses and minuses for either one. There's a guy who advertises at the AOMCI.org site who has really good deals on the coils for either magneto. Goes by Old Outboard Jim.
thanks ill check that out and i have both types, they dont need to be reliable or anything, they will be wall hangers in my shop but i like my wall hangers to be functional
