Switch box problem

I have a 1981 80 hp Mercury: last season i replaced the switch box due to no spark in #4 cylinder. I only used the motor a few times and stored it away for the winter. While preparing it for the season this year, I again have a miss due to no spark in #4. I have done all the trouble shooting as per CDI Electronics and again everything points to a bad switch box. Before I invest in another switch box, is there something that could be taking out my switch boxes. Also since I now have two switch boxes with output on #1, 2 & 3 is it possible to combine the two switch boxes to run the motor since #1 & 2 outputs are separate from # 3 & 4.outputs.

Replace #4 coil as it has a problem and is inducting a voltage "kickback" into switchbox..
