Pretty new to boating and motors and picked up this 53 mercury mark 15. From what ive read it requires a pressurized fuel tank. But ive also seen its possible to convert them to run with a fuel pump. All the videos i have found look nothing like my motor. And i dont know enough about it to just wing it without help. Would like to keep cost down and do it myself. i picked the motor up for 35 bucks and i got it to start and run with a tank elevated above the motor. Can anyone help me out here?

Welcome aboard.

Not too sure you have a pressurized tank. Is the hose a single or double?

Put the tank lower than the motor and try it. Looking at the parts diagram for a Mark 15, the fuel pump is a regular crankcase pressure drive type like all the newer motors.

I'm sure no expert in this area.
