Replaced electric pump due to old one locked up from sitting in bad fuel. I have 12+ volts to fuel pump at connection when pump is disconnected when starting with electric start. When I plug the new pump into the connection it falls to 3 volts-I have a hot battery and turns over well but no fuel pressure, low voltage at pump only when pump is connected and no pressure. Tank is full so I know engine mechanical fuel pump is pumping well float works, but I don't know about the voltage drop at the new electric pump when connected, Pump was pulled and bench tested and it runs well -Any ideas -thanks in advance

sounds like a sort in the boat wires. Track it down or your boat might burn.

Replace pump fuse as it could have blown and then touched back together, it would show correct voltage at no load and with load the resistance would be high causing voltage drop
