What model boat?
How much does it weigh?
What is the max hp rating?

an electric trolling motor will probably push it along just fine. you never defined the speed at which you want it to move.

if the boat is a Nitro FS or 185 Sport TF 180 , all those hull are rated at 150hp. and came with a 115 as the smallest motor

Shure it'll push it and as Scott said, so will a trolling motor. If the engine was originally on the boat when bought new, it sure took the PO a long time to get tired of not getting (much) on plane. And in answering the question objectively......................YOU NEVER HAVE ENOUGH! Even the drug runner with 9 300 hp Yammies strapped to his transom doesn't have enough. Course on that boat, what I'd like to know is what kind of a transom is required to take that dead weight and moment of inertia when the pilot hammers down on the throttles.
