I have a '83 V6 150 Black Max serial number 6312908. Should the black-Yellow kill wires that connect to each switch box show any voltage to ground when the key is in the "run" position. Key off I get 0 volts. Key on (motor not running, switch boxes out) I get 0.2-0.4 sporadically. Sometimes it 0.02 volts when exercising the key.

With the key on you will have voltage on it. I forget how much but it will shock you. Did you have your meter set for AC voltage? It should have been.

I was checking on DC voltage. I tried AC and got 0.1 volts. I read in other posts that a small amount of voltage can be induced into the wire via a charged wire next to it. Also a dirty-bad key switch can cause it.

Thanks,
Mike

Battery voltage is not involved with the kill circuit !!!----If there is voltage with the motor not running there is a problem.
