Mercury power head question

I've got a 1990 mercury 150 xr4 that I need to replace the power head on and I've got a 1980 mercury 150 on one of my parts boats I could pull the power head off of to replace it with. Anyone know if it will work for it? Other than the fact that one is oil injected and the other is not they look nearly identical and the bolt pattern looks to be the same. Is there anything mechanically different that would prevent me from being able to use the 80's power head on the 90's outboard?

if you mean "complete, runin' power head" swap bolt it on... double check pump and parts, t-stats and poppet... might need ta use tha '80 adapter plates but don't think so best I can remember......jan, be sure ta disconnect tha shiftin' arm from tha anchor bracket at tha slide......
