Hey Folks,

Picked up this motor recently and trying to connect the cables to it. I have figured out which is throttle and which is shift. I have them connected to the linkages. but for the life of me I can't figure out what secures the cables inside the cowling.

I have this piece which seems to fit through the brass nuts that spin on the cables. but I don't know what it is supposed to attach to. just kinda lost at this point. Is there a piece missing? anyone have a picture of what it should look like secured? exploded view? anything?

such a simple thing to be stuck on.

Thanks,
Steve

Have you figured this out? That bolts in to where the cables enter the cowl. I have two of mine one for shift one for throttle cables. My motor is a 78 500.

Hey mike, yes I did. Turns out I am missing three peices. Figured it out when I looked up the one part I do have on ebay.

Replacements have been very hard to come by so don't ever loose yours!
