I recently fixed the ignition on my motor and i tried to start it and the flywheel barely turns. I took the plugs out and then tried it and it turned fine so the starter motors not bad. Im stumped. Any suggestions?
Thanks- mason

It is likely dirty or loose battery cables, not delivering enough amperage to the starter. Check 'em the entire length. Look for any bulges under the insulation. If you find one, the copper is likely corroded. Also make sure the cable ends are clean and tight. Make sure the starter ground is clean and tight as well.

Thanks chris. I think im going to replace the battery cables and the starter ground wire and see what that does. I will keep you updated

When I was just a young whipersnapper and old salt told me that whenever you have electrical issues on a boat, 9 times out of 10 you have a bad ground somewhere.
