I have a 2010 Mercury 40hp EFI that has very stiff (to move) shift and throttle cables. The shift cable isn't too bad but the throttle control lever takes quite a bit of force to move to increase the idle speed. The boat and motor has sat for a few years before I bought it recently. I'm wondering if it's possible to lube the cable or is there a method to free them up. Thanks Gregg (Ontario, Canada).
