I have a mercury 9.9 4 stroke 209cc (0R108267) that simply shuts down while out on the water and won't start back up. We are able to pump the fuel line ball and it fires right back up with no problem. Now thinking that it has to be in the fuel system I have replaced (with brand new OEM parts) the carb, the fuel pump (with Mercurys new watercooled version), the fuel filter, the lineset and ball, the fuel tank, the fuel connectors, the fuel lines, and the impeller. One by one I have reasoned that each of these parts could be the problem and replaced them just to find that the problem is still there. The motor makes great water flow out of the side and the ejected water is cool enough to cup in your had without getting burned.
I am at a loss.
