Just purchased a fixer upper 92 sea ray with an alpha 1 gen 2 motor. The fuel tank had gas in it that was at least 5-6 years old. I siphoned out the old fuel and was contemplating putting a carb cleaner in it but was concerned about it removing "gunk" buildup from the bottom of the tank and reclogging the carb (had that problem with a few old cars). As an alternative, I removed the fuel tank and hooked the fuel line up to a small 5 gallon external tank with the carb treatment in it and ran the motor for an hour or so. My question is, now that I have removed the gas tank, is there a good way to clean it out? Just soap and water or some other combination?? Any help would be appreciated.

remove the fuel sender and use soapy water and a pressure washer
