27' Mach 1 twin 350's RPM issue

I have a 1987 Mach 1 27' Concorde twin 350's . My question is when I am running WOT my rpm's on both motors read about 3800 at 44MPH. I am not sure where my problem is, is the Rochester Quadrajets secondaries not opening? I am running SS Mirage 23 Pitch props . Do you think the pitch is wrong everything I have seen is from 19- 24 pitch. So where should I start troubleshooting?

Do the engines run well? if so move down to a lower pitch propeller. I'd suggest 17' based on your report.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Is the boat new to you,..?? Have ya ever seen higher rpms with those props,..??

The boat is new to me last year and I have not seen higher rpm's yet
