If this would be better off in the Mercruiser forum, please move it mods.

I forgot to take pictures of the path my lower shift cable takes.
I know it goes through the transom plate towards the port side and then back but don't know the exact route.
Does anyone have pictures of theirs? Or perhaps can easily explain the route?

I figure it's best to do it the right way.

Hey Marc, do you shift cables run parallel to the transom behind the motor on a horizontal plate? If so, there should be a clip on the lower port side below the engine mount for the cable to clip into then it make a nice big loop up behind the exhaust elbow onto the shift plate. Hope that helps

Yes, my cables attach like you say.
I'll take a look for the clip. It certainly wasn't attached when i removed it (I think). Is the clip on the transom?
