Is there a known "best spark plug" for the 3 litre Mercruiser?

Is the NGK-BPR6EFS, box 3623 the standard? Any known issues or advantages with the Iridium UR6IX IX, box 7348?

My boat is a 1983 and while it runs very well the compression is starting to get a bit on the low side so.......I used the A/C Delco plugs for a couple years without issue except for an occasional fouled plug, recommended to switch to the NGK plugs and have not had a fouled plug since. That was two seasons back so my boat will have NGK plugs this year. Just NO champions!!

Iridiam plugs were brought out to extent the life on automotive applications. Around here most marine plugs die from old age before they ware out.
