Hello I have a 1987 sea Ray. It came back from the shop I had the water pump impeller replaced, thermostat and housing, and the exhaust manifolds and risers. It was running great and not overheating. I took the boat out fishing turned off the engine and by the end of the day started up the boat and when I started to accelerate I heard a loud screaching nose at about 1500 rpms. When I went faster it went away. I took the boat out yesterday when I got out of the boat dock the same thing happen. Can someone please help!!!

Welcome aboard, Brian.

First, it's doubtful the noise is because it's a SeaRay. It sounds like a belt is slipping. What power does the boat have?

Let's move this to the Mercruiser section.

Can you check the belts?

No 3.0 V6 but there is a 4.3 V6 and a 3.0 4 cylinder. But it doesn't matter what engine you have, check belt tensions. If they are tight, it/they may still be slipping due to a binding water pump or power steering pump. Loosen the belts and spin the pulleys by hand. If any of them turn hard, you found the problem.
