Does anyone know the torque speces for a L6 165 hp (250 C.I.D.)? I looked around but haven't found them yet.
Get a manual and all the specs will be in there. Always use a torque wrench for things like this unless you enjoy pulling the engine to do it correctly later!
per service manual #2
coupling to flywheel bolts are 7/16-20, torque is 60 ft/lbs.
ya need mercruiser torque wrench adapter c-91-54638.
this info would be for mid 70's L6
don't know what the special tool is, but a crows foot wrench comes to my mind.
or
good n tight, guess i'd try to torque it proper if i could though.
item 22 is the tool
maybe a crows foot wrench won't work. that looks pretty special.....
