So I went ahead and pulled of the carb to rebuild on this 88 Sea Ray 300DA (5.7L Alpha) The engines and drives were replaced with 94's at sometime or another.
Anyway, the weber (square bore) 4bbl say 9772sa on it, but for the life of me, I cannot tell if that's the right carb or not. None of the specs I can find will say that one is for that engine.

Can anyone confirm or deny the appropriate model so I can buy a kit or buy the correct carb.
Thanks!

Posting the serial number for your motor may help ID the correct Merc carb. If I were looking for a replacement thats how I would find it.

Ayuh,... That's the right carb,.... The BBC carbs have larger aft bores,...

For parts, the Edlebrock 1409 is the same carb,....

I used an Edlebrock 1409 on the Port engine. I should probably bite the bullet and order a new 1409 for the starboard engine.

Google search the carb number 9772SA and you will find the info needed for "that" carburetor. Also you will find that they seemed to be installed on the big block 7.4L Bravo only. The carbs with 9770 & 9600 seemed to be more for the 5.7L.

Yes, That's what I found as well. Should I order the correct carb for that motor, and sell someone a BB carb?
I don't know the internals of this engine, only to assume its a stock 5.7L, is it matters.

Doesn't really matter what the internals are in your engine... A 5.7 litre engine turning at 'full noise' is only looking at sucking about 450cfm. A carb big enough for a BBC (needs around 650cfm) is going to be too big for your 350...

That's kind of what I figured as well.
Just order another (matching the port engine) brand new Edelbrock 1409.
All nice and shiny and stuff!
