trim/tilt leak

Hey everyone, I am new to this forum. I have a 94 Marlin (wellcraft) with a mercruiser 5.0 inboard. It sat in storage for a few years, I have not worked on it before so I am fairly unfamiliar with it.

The problem began with a slow leak in the trim/tilt. If I cycled the motor all of the way up, as soon it began to come back down again it sounded like it would lose a bit of fluid (sounded similar to purging a water line with air pockets in it, like intermittent high pressure spraying) . I tried the boat out on the water anyway to make sure everything else was working. It was fine the first time, then second time on the water the leak seemed to get a little worse then blew out all at once. Refilling the resivoir and attempting to cycle the trim just empties the trim/tilt fluid into the bilge. The leak is under the motor and I cannot see where it is coming from.

It seams the hydraulic lines pass through the hull and connect to the cylinders outside. The leak is inside, so is there an intermediate fitting where it passes through? Does it sound like a line just blew out or is there a component of the trim/tilt out of sight under the motor? I recently moved an picking up an inspection mirror is next on my list for the hardware store, but for the time being I cannot see underneath.

I have searched around a bit and found lots of great information to troubleshoot the electrical function of the trim/tilt, but not anything yet for my particular issue. Maybe it is just that obvious and I am not seeing it, I am just getting familiar with this boat. I am sure someone has had a similar issue, if anyone has pictures/diagrams that would be helpful as well.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you BtDoctur, that helps. So do I need to run new lines from the pump to the trim hose manifold? Is there any easy way to access (just removing the trim hose manifold) or do I need to remove the gimbal housing to replace the lines?

remove the manifold by pulling downward after you remove the 2 nuts, disconnect the leaking hose at the manifold and trim pump. tie a cord to the old hose and remove hose, tie the string to the new hose and pull into place and connect to the manifold

Ok gotcha, after reading back over it I realize that was a really silly question. I initially thought the note on the diagram was referring to the steel braided lines going to the trim cylinders but that wouldn't make much sense now would it. You wouldn't have the part numbers to the two hoses going from the manifold to the pump would you? They look like they have two different length elbows.
