I have a few questions.

1. Is this collar normal(silver by the ujoint)? Do I need it? I don't remember seeing it last year when I took the drive off.

2. I am assuming that since both mounts on the rear of the engine look like this its normal but can anyone verify that its normal?

3. Found this in the bilge, anyone know what it is?

On question #1 - the collar. BT Doctur says it is normal.... That should not have come off with the drive however. Should it?

BT Doctur was answering the 2nd question with the normal comment. The ring should not come out like that.

Ok so if the ring/color should not come out like that do I just pop it back in or do I need to do something else?

Agree that should not have just come out. With it coming loose I would go back to the dealer and ask why it happened.

It only has a one year waranty and I have had it longer than that so im on my own to figure it out unless I want to pay them which I don't want to do.

There is an installing tool for that ring, but having had it come out like that, I'd ditch it and put a new one in. Also check the bell housing end of the bellows VERY carefully...

As for item #3, how about a photo in a little better focus. (camera phone was it?)

#3 That looks like a broken off hatch latch. If you find where to buy them reasonably I need one too!

It's pushed in by hand, but use some power tune as lube. Don't use anything else as it can rot the rubber...

Is there anything specificailly I should be looking at on the bellows?

That ring holds the bellows into a groove in the bell housing. Check your bellows for any kind of deterioration or frayed edges, especially where it fits into the groove on the bellow housing.

Will a tear in the drive shaft bellows sink the boat?
Yes. It will take some time but water in there will seep past the gimbal bearing/drive shaft and into the bilge. The drive could also end up with water in it too.

Also can someone confirm this is the right part number for the new ring?

862209

If you have a BRAVO drive, that's the right number...
If you have an Alpha One Gen II drive, the number is 816607....
