There is a dial on the back of tach to set it to 4, 6 or 8 which corresponds to the number of cylinders motor it is going to be used on. I'm replacing my tach with one sitting on the shelf and the dial on the back of that Quicksilver tach offers four options which are 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Does anybody know at what number to set it for V8 motor?
Thanks.

Does the Quicksilver tach have a model number on it. Sometimes you can find instructions on-line. Also some tachs work for two and four strokes, while others only work on one or the other.

1 = 4 cyl
