Gearing up to winterize my boat in the next few weeks and need a new oil change pump. Last year I bought the Topsider pump and it worked decent, but the darn thing was built like crap and the threads on the caps were bad so I ended up returning it.

Anyone have an oil extractor that they like and recommend? I was considering a MityVac (7400 or a similar model in the $70-$80 range on Amazon).

Recommendations please!

The one linked to is probably better than most............. but imo most are over priced cheap plastic crap............. I made my own from a old keg a few fittings, hose and a vacuum pump.............

Your configuration may be different...

I have a 4.3L in a boat on a trailer.
A 3/8 ID PVC hose fits snugly on the dip stick tube and runs out the Plug Hole to a container on the ground.
A shot of compressed air into the crankcase ventilation hose starts the siphon action.
30 minutes later the job is done. If a $2 hose will work, why spend $80 for a once a year job?
