SeaRay, 1992, twin 454's EFI, one engine blowing fresh oil out spraying all over from under the alternator. Mechanic says head gasket have big problem with this idea, could this be coming from hole in dipstick tube as it is right where the oil seems to be coming on the braket holding the alternator and there is a welded mount clup to the tube with lots of corrosion. One question is could the engine at running speed 3200rpm put up enough pressure to spray out a hold in the tube if indeed there is one?

unlikely the head gasket , and a rotted dipstick tube dosent blow out oil either. you would need an awful lot of blow-by pressure to simply blow oil out of an engine
like melting a hole in a piston

+1 with BtDoc, Do you have vee drives or outdrives? Is it motor oil or hydraulic/power steering fluid?

I'm unable to find an EFI engine produced in 1992. Look to see if you have a mechanical fuel pump mounted to the block on the starboard side. Check to see if the housing is cracked and leaking oil, or the bolts have loosened up and it's leaking

Sounds a lot better, it's a 385HP 7.4L (454 w/ 502 heads and roller cam), but there is a twist. On that engine there are two oil coolers, one for the transmission and one for the oil. The twist is the dip stick is on the starboard side of the engine, port side of the boat. The ALT is usually mounted on the port side of engine down low, and seawater pump on the starboard side low of the engine.

The oil cooler is mounted vertically in the front of the engine behind the serpentine belt. The fittings on the oil cooler and the cooler it self would be my number one suggestion for the leak.

Word from the marina is that an electrode busted off and went through a piston. Well we all know what kind of cash that might need.

That is bad news, just pulled a buddies 7.4HO with V drives due to a spun bearing. Only thing that doesn't add up is how the oil showed up where it did with a hole in a piston, just doesn't make sence
