Hello all...

Got a question about Mercruiser Thunderbolt IV V6-14 Ignition Module..
I'm fairly new to boats and engines....

A friend of mine, who is helping repairing my boat told me to get a new ignition module.
He gave me the old part and told me to search for a used one..

I can find quite a few around diff sites, but here comes my question...
I can't find one with the same number!!! Does it have to be the same number (all of them)

The one that came of my boat have this number written on it

6DO4A V6 - 14

I kinda figured out that the V6 have to be right and it seems that the 14 also have to be right..
But what about the first 5 letters/numbers... Is that important or just a part number???

Hope someone can enlighten me on this matter...
See picture of my broken part i need to replace...

My engine is:
MerCruiser 4.3/V6 - AlphaOne

Nope, just the 'V6-14'.... Indicates it's for a V6 (Duh!) and the total advance of the module is 14 degrees.

What's wrong with the old one? They are an item that seldom fails. How did your friend PROVE it's faulty?

Re: Mercruiser Thunderbolt IV V6-14 Ignition Module

Thanks Chris...

Well as said, I'm a nOOb when it comes to engines and stuff...
But he did a lot of electrical readings, tried all kind of things.
So im not sure what he did, but he said he was 95% sure now that it was this module that was the error.

So I'm just hoping he is right and we can get it fixed...
