You need to know what handle you have to get the roght style of switch, motor and drive wont give you anything. I think there are about a dozen different styles of shifters/throttles. Quick search found these.

The throttle mounted switch is actually three switches in one. Two UPs and one DOWN.
Other than obvious physical damage, the odds of all three switches going bad at once is slim.
I would confirm the problem is actually the switch before you go throwing money at the wrong problem.
The symptoms would suggest it is more likely that a wiring harness connector has come unplugged.

There is about a 90% chance that it is NOT your throttle switch, so leave it alone (for now). Chances it is the trim limit switch on the outdrive. Try this: go to the stern and locate the two black wires coming through the transom. One goes into a connector with a purple/white wire and the other into a connector with two blue/white wires. Unplug the black wires and use a piece of wire to jumper between the two connectors. Try the trim switch. If it works the problem is your trim limit circuit.

Yep. I would bet on limit switch first. Get a meter and start testing before replacing anything.

If the Trim UP Button (1[SUP]st[/SUP]Click) does not work, but the Trailer UP Button (2[SUP]nd[/SUP]Click) works,
that would indicate a problem with the Limit Switch.

Also the down/in switch will still work if it's the limit switch that is the problem.
