Have a 1989 Maxum with Mercusier 3.0. Engine not running at the moment

Is there a way to weatherize this so it does not freeze up or does it have to be running to get the job done?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

It does not need to run to winterize it. Drain all the water from the block and manifolds. Place outdrive in down position.

Drain all block and manifold drains, change gear lube and squirt some light oil into the cylinders.. Call it done.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,.... Pull the drain plug, down low, port-side of the block, 'n the manifold drain just above it, upside-down, 'n poke the holes clear to drain it,...
Also pull the Big hose off the water circulatin' water pump on the front of the motor,...
Then lower, or remove the drive,..

'n while P/S is rare on a 3.0l, if it's got it, drain the cooler by removin' either of the big hoses off it,...

Spraying fogging oil in the cylinders would be best for the motor, but really should be turned over several times if you can.
