Purchased a lower unit with pin on driveshaft.... will it work?

I just purchased an alpha lower unit for my boats upper housing because the lower unit previously on my boat had the drive shaft broken. the lower unit I bought has a pin on the driveshaft. The lower unit previously on my boat didn't have a pin. Can I use the unit with the pin I bought on the unit I had that didn't have the pin?

I assume you are talking about the pin at the top of the vertical shaft. My old boat had a lower with the preload pin at the top and was mated to an alpha 1 upper with no problems in 7 years.

The lower with the pin IS NOT an Alpha One, it's older. If you order a new impeller kit for it, they have different lower water pump base. The pin lower is either a MC1 or R drive. It will work for you just make sure you get the correct base for it. The rest of the impeller kit and upper housings are the same as your Alpha One.

The lower will bolt right up to your Alpha One.
