problem with mercruiser out drive raising

having problem with trimming up out drive only raise for about 1 second then stops goes down fine any help on where to start to look for problem, this is my first boat its a 94 caravelle with 2011 4.3 v6 mercruiser motor and lower unit

two possibilities

First - if the pump stops running (you do not hear it) - then you are probably hitting the end of the trim range of motion and getting into the tilt range of motion. depending on your controls, there is a secondary switch that needs to be held to raise it into the tilt position for loading on the trailer.

Second - if the pump continues to run and it doesn't move - then you are probably low on fluid.
