Mercruiser 5.7l V8 Draco topaz starter motor wiring diagram/picture required.. Help!!

Thank you for that. Very helpful although our boat doesn't have the purple/yellow wire. I will attach some pics of what we have. Cheers, Dan.

This is how we currently have it. I believe the orange wire from the alternator needs to go on the same post as the batt lead. ??

See that black metal tag on the engine block, just above the starter motor? On that will be an engine serial number. If you provide that serial number we can give you the right drawing. Merc have been using the 350 V8 since 1977 and there's been a lot of developments since then, and wiring changes.... That number will enable us to know which particular incarnation of the 350 you have....
