1973 mercruiser 120 I/O lower unit: Water leaks normal or indicate trouble?

I have recently swapped out lower units on my out drive. When putting it on muffs, there are a couple of areas i have water coming out of that i do not recall seeing on my old unit. One is a steady stream coming out from the small hole on the forward starboad side of the prop shaft torpedo. One is a noticable amount coming from the area where the intermediate shift shoe enters through the base of the upper half and the 3rdwhole area is it seems like i am getting a lot more water coming out of the through-prop exhaust port. Replacement lower end supposedly had a new impeller installed before i purchased it. My drive is a 73 and i believe the replacement is from 82. I dont have serials at hand.
Is this normal, or should i pull the lower again and investigate further?
