Alpha one grinds when put in gear

I just changed the lower shift cable. The old one was sticking and causing the interrupt switch to stay on. Got the new one in no problem. I thought the interrupt switch was for going into gear, forward and reverse. But after reading #9 on this forum, (how the interrupt switch works), I am confused. I am not in the water so maybe that will make a difference. Can someone tell me if the grind is normal or not. I honestly don't remember if that was the norm.

Re: Alpha one grinds when put in gear

If you mean more of a rapid clunking, clattery sound, then yes, normal. The solution is in your right hand. Go into gear quicker and further and you should here one clunk. What you're supposed to do is avoid the clackety sound by moving through it. That's why there is slop before the throttle starts to increase.

BTW, welcome aboard!! :)
