This is a set of pictures of the upper end of the front motor mount.

They show:

steel washer on top of it all

the spacer is holding the steel washer up off of the fiber washer

and that doesn't look right to me. I just bought the upper washer and my parts manual shows the upper steel washer and lower steel washer having the same part number. So I'm wondering if the spacer is too long?

So, anyone out there really know this motor mount and what it's suppose to look like? The upper fiber washer looks like it's never had any pressure on it. I'm pretty sure this is how the motor mount was when I took it apart a couple years ago. The front of the engine would have to jump up in order for the upper fiber washer to do anything.

Thanks.

Bt Doctur, I have the same exploded view. It doesn't show me clearly how the top washers and spacer are supposed to sit together.

thanks

the engine sits on the rubber mount pressed into #1, 17,18,14,19 go on top. Its to keep the motor from jumping off the top of the mount.
same principle for the rear setup. A washer and spacer above the mount to retain the rear of the motor should it somehow try to jump upward.

Okay, so there is suppose to be a gap? If the engine does jump, it can jump up between 1/8" - 1/4". So it's just sitting there held down on the lower part by gravity? odd to say the least.

Where is the rubber mount? Isn't the spacer supposed to be in the rubber mount?

The rubber mount is inside the post. The adjusting bolt goes through the rubber mount.

Your gap looks exactly the same as the thickness of your #14 washer, which you say is the same number as the bottom washer-- is the bottom #14 there? (just wondering!)

Both washers are there.

Other than the fiber washer on Terry's looks like it may have swelled up a bit, they look pretty much the same.
