New question. I am having an issue with the starboard side ignition breaker. I flip the switch to the ""on" position, turn the key to start the motor, and the breaker shuts down. On the chance that the motor starts, it will run for about 10 minutes before the breaker shuts off once again. I have replaced the breaker and the ignition switch plus i have also replaced all the batteries. I am at a loss. Is there anyone out there that has had the same issue? Could it be the coil? Or is there something I am missing. The engine turns over fine, and i also failed to mention i replaced the slave selenoid also. Please help i have twin 4.3l mercs. Thunderbolt iv.

A small list of things that could cause the breaker to keep tripping could be,

1) Loose or corroded battery power or ground cables or electrical wire connections somewhere allowing the system to get hot tripping the breaker. (Common occurrence)
2) Intermittent or direct electrical short.
3) In rare cases, having an alternator issue.

whats the rating on this breaker cause most dont use a breaker on the ign circuit.
Have you added anything to the ign circuit?
Have you put a ammeter in series to measure the current?
