Power Steering belt length, anyone?

Hi, my power steering belt snapped yesterday. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what length the belt would be? It is from a 1998 Mercruiser 2.8 Diesel. Thanks.

measure it end to end? use the numbers on the belt if any?

Thanks for the replies. The old belt is a bit of a mess, so not really in shape to measure. I'll order one tomorrow from the part number which is still legible, but was hoping to pick up the right length of belt from an auto spares place to get back on the water over the weekend, having no luck though!
