riser and manifold replacement

I have been looking for a replacement boat, 2003/2005...two things I read about these are "new motor installed" which makes me wonder if they took such bad care of the motor it blew? What else would be wrong with the boat if they did not take care of the motor, and, risers and manifold recently replaced...what are they and why would they need to be replaced within 10 years or so? Exhaust manifold?

Your asking a very broad question and not supplying much to narrow it down. New motors can be anything for poor maintenance, no closed cooling system in salt water to doing somethng real dumb. Risers can corriod out if the boat sits in salt water, to bad winterization. There are just to many possibilities. Boat adds are trying to sell something and just like in poitics, if their lips (or type) are moving their probably lying.
