pulling inline 6 motor?

is it possible to pull the motor from my boat with out taking off the stern drive i need to replace the rear main seal in motor i have a mercruiser 165 hp inline 6, year 1975 gm 250 ci i believe it is an alpha 1 drive2013-06-30 15.39.44.jpg2013-06-30 15.39.24.jpg

Yep, not a problem BUT be prepared to pull it a second time to replace the engine coupler from mis-alignment.

And then the drive has to come off the check/adjust alignment anyway. Might as well pull the drive to start with and check the bellows, etc.

so what your saying is i should just take the stern drive off to start because it will not go back on right unless the stern is taken off to do the alignment in that case could anyone point me in the right place im guessing i need to replace gaskets on drive when i take it off what gasket and is this an alpha 1 drive im new to the boating thing
