Hello,
I purchased a DIY project 89 Malibu Sunsetter that sat with water in the bilge long enough for the water to evaporate and redeposit in the engine area and form rust. The previous owner had an inspection done and the shop loosened all the rocker arms to shut all the valves and do a leak down on the motor. I purchased the boat and now want to re install the rocker arms and attempt to start the motor after rebuilding the carb and replacing the rusted out starter. Can someone explain the proper sequence to tightening and adjusting the rocker arms? Any input would be appreciated - website reference would be great. I'm starting my search for info - will post what I find for future reference (hopefully someone will find it useful). Thanks, Todd

Title should say Mercruiser 260.

Any library has auto shop manuals for that engine. Yes it will be a car manual but thats where the basi engine came from. The adjustment procedure is the same.
