Replacing gimbal housing anode on 4.3L

Hi,

The anode kit I purchased came with an anode seal (plug) P/N 85656. Can I pull the existing plug out and replace, or do I need to remove the trim connector P/N 98825A4?

if the old plug is in good condition , just leave it.
