I've read that in order to get an accurate timing setting, there are jumpers needed to defeat systems that would skew the reading (advance and shift delay?). However, there are no white wires coming out of my distributor (converted to PerTronix Igniter electronic ignition by PO) only a black and a red. When I read the timing at idle (700 rpm) it was off, I've adj timing to read 6? BTDC. Engine is running rough. Am I supposed to put jumpers in somewhere, defeat some compeating system somewhere before adj timing? Any help/advice appreciated!
