I picked up on the cheap a really nice Gulfstream inboard with that IL 6 Mercruiser 165.
The engine is in good shape. The outdrive was just serviced. I am having a hard time keeping it running.
I pulled the top of the carb off and found dirty fuel. I pulled the carb and want to kit is.
What am I looking for in regards to a kit for this boat? I can get kits off Ebay for 50 bucks. I'd really like to put another carb on this but Ebay wants 300 or more.
The accelerator pump plunger is distorted and not right. So I need to rebuild this one.
Advice on getting a kit? Is this my carb? My carb has # 7040083 then 228 11 on the bowl
