Hello

I am looking for some advice about idle oil pressure on a cold/ warm engine. My 2001 Stingray 190LS only has 240 hours and noticed yesterday that the oil pressure at very low speeds (mostly at idle is between 37 and 41 psi). I have been told that this is an acceptable psi and have been told it is not. My owners manual says between 12 and 29. With that in mind I guess I am a little confused.

I am no boat mechanic and I am new to the boating world. Just looking for advice from all the professionals out there.

The boat operates and handles well. Dipstick shows full oil level. All fluids were changed in APR.

Am I just worrying about nothing or in need of a mechanic??

Thanks, M

Was those readings with cold engine or warm engine. The pressure is always higher when cold.

If it was a warm engine, remove the oil alarm pressure switch and hook up a temporary mechnical oil pressure gauge and compare the readings. You may have only an electrical problem, and have completely normal oil pressure.
